New Hall

PRESIDENT

New Hall is seeking to appoint a new President. Founded in 1954, the College has about 50 Fellows and 440 students. New Hall is deeply committed to providing high quality education for women of all backgrounds. While the student body is open to women only, the Fellowship of the College is mixed. Anne Lonsdale, the current President, will retire in September 2008, after a highly successful twelve years in post. The Fellows are therefore seeking to appoint her successor.

The President ensures that the College fulfils its primary purpose as a place of outstanding education, learning, and research. She or he acts as an ambassador for New Hall, raising the College's profile within and beyond the University, and is also actively involved in the daily running of the College, regularly interacting with students, Fellows, and staff. The successful candidate for this role will be committed to the ethos and aspirations of the College, and will have excellent interpersonal, management, leadership, and diplomatic skills. Experience in higher education is not essential, but the candidate will need to be sympathetic to the aims and style of the College.

To apply for this position, or to receive further particulars of the appointment, please contact Claire Lane, Heidrick & Struggles International, 3 Burlington Gardens, London, W1S 3EP (tel. 020 7075 4083, e-mail clane@heidrick.com). Applicants are asked to state where they saw the advertisement. The closing date for receipt of applications is 11 May 2007.
