LECTURER IN CLASSICAL ART AND ARCHAEOLOGY

Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Classical Art and Archaeology to stand in for Prof. R. R. R. Smith, who has been awarded a one-year British Academy/ Leverhulme Senior Research Fellowship. The appointment will be for a fixed period of one year from 1 October 2007. The Lecturer will belong to the Faculty of Classics but will also be a member of the School of Archaeology. The successful candidate will be appointed on the Oxford University Lecturer salary scale (£25,889 to £31,840 a year).

The successful candidate will be familiar with a full range of material and visual culture in the ancient Mediterranean world, within the period from the sixth century BC to the third century AD, and must possess a good research record and experience of teaching.

DEPARTMENTAL LECTURESHIP IN CLASSICAL (GREEK AND LATIN) LANGUAGES AND LITERATURE

The University of Oxford and Corpus Christi College propose to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in Greek and/or Latin Languages and Literature: the post will be held in conjunction with a College Lectureship at Corpus Christi College. The appointment will run for one year from 1 October 2007. Candidates may have expertise in any area of Greek and/or Latin Languages and Literature. They should hold, or be working towards, a doctorate in a related field, and be able to provide evidence of published, or soon to be published, research. The primary duties of the post-holder will be to give tutorials, lectures, and classes, and to assist the Tutor in Latin in directing studies in Greek and Latin Languages and Literature at Corpus Christi College. The salary will be in the range of £25,889 to £31,840 a year.
