FIXED-TERM LECTURESHIP IN ENGLISH

The College proposes to appoint a Fixed-Term Lecturer in English for two years from 1 October 2007 to replace Dr Susan Jones during the term of a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship. The Lecturer will be expected to undertake up to eight hours a week of College teaching in 19th-, 20th-, and 21st-century English Literature, together with some administration. The person appointed will be a member of the English Faculty and will be expected to give, under the direction of the Faculty Board, up to sixteen lectures or classes a year; to take a limited part in University examining if and when requested; and to engage in advanced study or research. The appointment would be on Point 4, Grade 7 of the University scale, at present £28,290 a year. The post is open to both men and women.
