CAREER DEVELOPMENT FELLOWSHIP IN EXPERIMENTAL PSYCHOLOGY

St Hugh's College and the Department of Experimental Psychology propose to appoint to a Career Development Fellowship in Experimental Psychology from 23 April 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter. This is a fixed-term three-year position intended for an individual who has recently completed a doctorate and wishes to embark on an academic career. It is open to those working in the psychology of language/psycholinguistics. The post-holder will be expected to carry out research of international standing, and to offer up to four hours of teaching a week to undergraduates during term.

This post is open to those who already hold a postdoctoral research appointment in Oxford or in another UK University, or who have been accepted to start such a position on 23 April 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter. Applicants should note that their postdoctoral research position must be such as would allow them to carry out the duties of a Career Development Fellowship at St Hugh's, including regular teaching in the College during term.

The successful applicant will be elected to a Career Development Fellowship in St Hugh's College. The Fellow will receive a stipend of £6,000 a year, in addition to the salary for their postdoctoral appointment. The total stipend of the Fellowship and postdoctoral appointment is therefore likely to be at Grade 7 of the University's payment structure and is likely to be approximately £31,840 a year. The closing date for applications is 2 April 2007. Interviews are scheduled to be held on 16 April. Further particulars of the post are available on the College website at http://www.st-hughs.ox.ac.uk/.

STIPENDIARY LECTURESHIP IN PURE MATHEMATICS

St Hugh's College proposes to appoint an eight-hour Stipendiary Lecturer in Pure Mathematics, with effect from 1 October 2007 until 30 September 2010. This appointment is to fulfil teaching needs arising from a period of academic leave granted to a current post-holder, and is non-renewable.

The Lecturer will be expected to teach (in tutorials and classes) eight hours each week averaged over the three terms (24 weeks) of the academical year. In addition, the Lecturer will be expected to play a full role in the running of Mathematics in the College, including arranging Pure Mathematics tuition, participating in the admissions process, setting and marking College examinations, and assisting with the pastoral care of undergraduates.

The annual stipend for the post will be on a scale starting at £14,888 a year and will be pensionable. The Lecturer will be a member of the St Hugh's Senior Common Room. The closing date for applications is 13 April 2007. Further particulars are available at http://www.st-hughs.ox.ac.uk/assets/File/Word_Documents/Maths_Lecturer.doc.
