Hughes Hall

SENIOR TUTOR

Applications are invited for the post of Senior Tutor with effect from May or as soon as possible thereafter. Hughes Hall has over 450 student members from many countries; approximately 370 are postgraduates and 80 are mature (over age 21) undergraduates.

The Senior Tutor's role in Hughes Hall includes three main areas of leadership and responsibility:

(i) academic activities within the College;
(ii) development and maintenance of an effective tutorial system;
(iii) links to the University and other Colleges.

As a Fellow and College Officer the Senior Tutor takes a full part in the policy-making and governance of the College. The post will be half, three-quarters, or full-time, according to circumstances, with a salary related to the University Senior Lecturer scale. It is expected that candidates for the post will have experience of working in an academic post in a university and preferably experience of student welfare and/or university or college administration. The appointment will be for three years with the possibility of renewal.
