STIPENDIARY LECTURESHIP IN INORGANIC CHEMISTRY

Keble College invites applications for a Stipendiary Lectureship in Inorganic Chemistry for one year starting from 1 October 2007. The successful candidate will be expected to provide six hours of tutorial teaching for undergraduates a week averaged over the academical year.

Candidates should have teaching experience in the field of Inorganic Chemistry and must be able to teach the following Inorganic Chemistry papers: Preliminary Examination, Part IA Examination, and Part IB General Paper. They should also be able to prepare students for the IB Option Papers, Inorganic Chemistry I and Inorganic Chemistry II, either by teaching the topics themselves or by arranging classes with specialists in these areas.

STIPENDIARY LECTURESHIP IN PHYSICAL OR THEORETICAL CHEMISTRY

Keble College invites applications for a Stipendiary Lectureship in Theoretical or Physical Chemistry for one year starting from 1 October 2007. The successful candidate will be expected to provide six hours of tutorial teaching for undergraduates a week averaged over the academical year.

Candidates should have teaching experience in the field of Physical Chemistry and must be able to teach the following Physical Chemistry papers: Preliminary Examination, Part IA Examination, and Part IB General Paper. They should also be able to prepare students for the IB Option Papers, Physical Chemistry I and Physical Chemistry II, either by teaching the topics themselves or by arranging classes with specialists in these areas.

In addition to teaching duties, the Lecturers will be expected to set and mark College examinations, and assist colleagues with the routine administration of Chemistry and the pastoral care of undergraduates reading Chemistry.

These Lectureships might suit candidates who are about to complete or have recently completed a doctoral thesis. There is no age limit for applicants. The posts could be held in conjunction with other similar posts. The salary is on an annual scale of £10,734 to £11,387. The Lecturers will be entitled to six free meals a week during full term, the use of a computer, and a teaching room. In addition, the post-holders will receive an academic allowance of £219 and a student entertainment allowance of £410 for the purpose of entertaining undergraduates.
