ORTON RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP IN ENGLISH

The College invites applications from suitably qualified candidates (Ph.D. Degree or equivalent, or in the final stages of completing a Ph.D. Degree) for a College Research Fellowship in English. The successful applicant will be elected to a Fellowship and will be expected to carry out research in English. Candidates with an interest in children's literature are welcome, although all fields relating to research in English will be considered.

The appointment will take effect no later than 1 October 2007, for three years. The stipend of post-Ph.D. Research Fellows is £18,224 (pre-Ph.D., £16,155) if resident in College. An additional allowance of £2,000 a year is paid if the successful applicant is not resident in the College.

Applications, including a curriculum vitae, a statement of research, an article or chapter-length piece of work, and the names of two referees, should be sent to the Master to arrive by noon on 30 March 2007. It is anticipated that the final interviews will be held during the second week in April.
