Professor Stephen Phelps Oakley, EM, M.A., Ph.D., Q, Professor of Latin, University of Reading, elected Kennedy Professor of Latin with effect from 1 October 2007.
Professor Robert Earnest Harrist, Jr, M.A., Indiana, M.A., Columbia, Ph.D., Princeton, Professor of Art History and Archaeology, Columbia University, elected Slade Professor of Fine Art for one year from 1 October 2006.
Engineering. Dr Sumeetpal Sidhu Singh, B.Eng., Ph.D., Melbourne, appointed from 1 March 2007 until the retiring age.
Medical Genetics. Dr Jenny Carmichael, DAR, M.B., B.Chir., Ph.D., Leicester, MRCP, appointed from 5 February 2007 for four years.
Politics. Professor Andrew Michael Gamble appointed from 1 October 2007 for five years.
University Offices (Finance Division). Mrs Hazel Kennard Pettit appointed from 2 February 2007 until the retiring age.
University Offices (Academic Division). Miss Samantha Knapper appointed from 22 January 2007 until the retiring age, with duties in the Department of Surgery.
Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. Mr Gareth Thomas Marlow, M.Eng., M.A., TH, appointed from 15 January 2007 until the retiring age.
Social Anthropology. Mr David Andrews Sneath, CC, reappointed from 1 January 2007 until the retiring age.
Archaeology and Anthropology. Dr Robert E. Dewar Jr, W, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2006 for two years.
English. Dr Hester Monica Lees-Jeffries, CTH, Dr Leo Gwilym Mellor, NH, and Dr Andrew Elder Zurcher, Q, have been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2006 for two years. Dr Katrin Christina Ettenhuber, PEM, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2007 for two years.
History. Dr Martin Alexander Ruehl, SID, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2007 for two years.
Social and Political Sciences. Dr Fiorella Dell'Olio has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2006 for two years.
