Office of Dean of Educational Studies: Notice

The General Board have approved a recommendation by the Faculty Board of Education that the office of Dean of Educational Studies (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 577) be suppressed with immediate effect and that, in future, the Head of the Department should be designated as the Dean of Educational Studies.

The regulations for the Department of Education (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 577) have accordingly been amended, with immediate effect, as follows:

Regulation 1.

By amending the regulation so as to read:

1. The Department of Education shall have the title 'The School of Education', and the Head of the Department shall be the academic head of the School, and shall be designated Dean of Educational Studies.

The office of Dean of Educational Studies is currently vacant following the retirement of Mr T. C. Everton. The office is an office specified in Schedules B and J of the Statutes and the General Board have accordingly recommended to the Council that a Grace (Grace 2, p. 436) be submitted to remove the office from these Schedules.
