Senior Assistant Treasurer (Head of Reporting) in the Finance Division

Applications are invited for the post of Head of Reporting in the Finance Division of the University Offices. The post-holder fulfils a key role in the preparation of the financial and statutory reporting for the University and is also responsible for assisting in developing accounting policy. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of reporting across the University. He/she will have substantial experience of working in a finance function; experience of preparing complex statutory accounts and management information, and of using computerized accounting system and reporting tools to analyse and report complete financial data; experience of leading and motivating teams; and will be educated to degree level and be a fully qualified accountant. The salary will be in the range of £44,074 to £46,758 a year.

These posts provide opportunities for applicants early on in their careers to gain substantial teaching and research experience within the Faculty. The salary will be in the range of £32,795 to £41,544 a year.

Temporary Lectureship in the Department of Geography

Applications are invited for a Temporary Lectureship in Economic Geography in the Department of Geography, to be filled from 1 October 2007 or earlier. The position, which is for a fixed term of three years, is to replace Professor Ron Martin whilst he is on leave as a Leverhulme Major Research Fellow. The successful applicant will be expected to teach at undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral levels, and to contribute, as appropriate, to the academic administration of the Department. The successful applicant would also be expected to contribute to the Department's high level of research activity, publishing and seeking research funding as appropriate to the duration of the post. A Ph.D. Degree in a relevant field is required. The salary will be in the range of £32,795 to £41,544 a year. The post is funded for three years by the Leverhulme Trust.

Teaching Associate in the Department of History and Philosophy of Science

An Enhancement Award from the Wellcome Trust and funds from the American Council of Learned Societies allow the Department of History and Philosophy of Science to invite applications for a two-year fixed-term position as Teaching Associate in the History of Modern Medicine and Biology. The successful candidate will take up appointment on or before 1 October 2007 and must have finished a Ph.D. Degree before the starting date. S/he will be expected to contribute fully to lecturing, supervising, examining, and administration of courses at all levels. The salary will be in the range of £24,402 to £31,840 a year.

Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Classics (Interdisciplinary) in the Faculty of Classics

The Faculty of Classics is seeking to appoint to a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Interdisciplinary Classics from 1 October 2007, for a period of two years. The Fellowship will combine the opportunity to engage in postdoctoral research whilst also developing high level teaching. Applications are invited from those with a primary research interest in any area of interdisciplinary studies within Classics, but the post might be particularly attractive to those in the earlier stages of their careers. The successful applicant will benefit from the world-class facilities offered by the University and the generous support of research and teaching provided by the Faculty. The Faculty currently teaches approximately 250 undergraduates reading Classics and almost 100 graduate students (reading for Master's and doctoral degrees). Interdisciplinary studies have been a part of the Faculty's undergraduate provision since the mid-1980s, and have been seen as a distinctive element in Cambridge Classics. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching of third-year undergraduates and particularly to foster innovative interdisciplinary approaches to the M.Phil. Degree in Classics. The salary will be in the range of £24,402 to £31,840 a year.
