The College seeks to appoint a full-time Senior Bursar to succeed Mr A. R. Thompson who retires on 30 September 2007.
The Senior Bursar is the chief financial and administrative officer of the College, responsible for the management of the College Endowment, including stock market investments and real property, the administration of the operational finances, and the supervision of the College estate and staff. He/she is assisted inter alia by an Assistant Bursar who has responsibility for the College's operational buildings plant and personnel, and a College Accountant.
Applicants will need to demonstrate considerable experience of financial management at a senior level, as well as exemplary administration and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and staff. The pensionable stipend will be commensurate with that of a senior academic post and the successful candidate will be elected to an Official Fellowship.
