Mansfield College

STIPENDIARY COLLEGE LECTURESHIP IN LAW 2007-08

Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for a nine-hour fixed-term College Lectureship in Law, tenable from 1 October 2007 for one year.

The post-holder would be required to undertake up to six actual hours of undergraduate teaching a week during term, would be expected to share the pastoral care of the students with the senior law tutor, Dr Pavlos Eleftheriadis, and to take over the duties of Director of Studies in law when the senior law tutor is on sabbatical leave from 1 October 2007 until 31 March 2008. The successful applicant should be able to teach three or preferably four of the following papers: Land, Trusts, Administrative Law, EC Law, Constitutional Law, Contract.

The post-holder will be paid on the Senior Tutor's stipendiary lecturer scale of £16,749 to £18,851 a year (August 2007 pay scale). Applications (five copies) including a covering letter, a curriculum vitae, and a short sample of written work (a chapter of a thesis or other publication) should be sent to the Academic Administrator by the closing date of 2 March 2007. Applicants should also give the names of two referees whom they should ask to write directly to the Academic Administrator by the same date. It is hoped to hold interviews in the week beginning 19 March.
