St Hilda's College

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

St Hilda's seeks a Development Director to take forward its fund-raising and alumnae relations to support the transition to a co-educational College. The new development programme will help to ensure that St Hilda's remains a friendly, diverse, non-traditional College with a continuing interest in the support of women's education and advancement.

Working closely with the Principal and Bursar, the Development Director will act as a senior officer of the College and manage a team of three. The post-holder will make major gift approaches and will support the Principal, other Fellows, and key volunteers in the same.

Candidates should have an outstanding track record in income generation and the ability to work at the highest levels. Strategic planning and management skills combined with the ability to command respect and influence people at high levels are important. A commitment to promoting academic excellence and an empathy for St Hilda's ethos and ambitions will be essential to success in the role. Based at the College, the successful candidate will be paid an excellent salary. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae to Joanna Logan (e-mail sthildas@execucare.com) by 2 February 2007.

ADMISSIONS SECRETARY

St Hilda's is seeking to appoint a highly able Admissions Secretary from 5 February 2007 (or as soon as possible thereafter), to work in the College's Academic Office. The person appointed will provide secretarial and administrative support for the Tutor for Admissions and Tutor for Graduates, and will also have his or her own areas of responsibility. This is a post with a varied workload, and would be suitable for anyone interested in academic administration and admissions matters.

Applicants must have well developed organizational and communication skills, and be able to work on their own initiative. Good A levels or their equivalent are essential, and a degree or other higher education qualification is preferable. An excellent command of English, and interest and proficiency in IT, including the use of Access databases, is also required.

The salary will be within the University grade 5 scale (currently £20,234 to £24,161) according to qualifications and experience. This is a permanent, full-time post, and is pensionable; it entails a 35-hour working week, with 38 days holiday a year, including public holidays. The post is open to both men and women. St Hilda's College is committed to helping its staff to develop their careers and has a training budget to help make career development possible.

Further particulars and an application cover sheet should be obtained from the College's website (http://www.st-hildas.ox.ac.uk/information/) or from the Academic Office, St Hilda's College, Oxford, OX4 1DY (tel. 01865 276815, e-mail college.office@st-hildas.ox.ac.uk).
