THE SCOTT FAMILY JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP FOR STUDIES IN AUTISM

University College invites applications for a Scott Family Junior Research Fellowship for studies into Autism tenable for a period of three years from 1 October 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter. The main focus of the research will be on establishing the genetic and neurobiological basis of autism and related disorders. The successful candidate will have a background in either developmental cognitive psychology, which could include the use of imaging or electrophysiological approaches, or in the analyses of complex MEG or ERP data. The world's first Magnetoencephalography (MEG) centre purpose built for the study of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders opens in Oxford in February 2007, under the leadership of Professor Anthony Bailey, and the Fellow will have an opportunity to work within this unit, in pursuit of his or her own research

The current stipend for a Junior Research Fellow is £17, 925 from October 2007, rising to £18,462 on 1 May 2008 and £18,824 on 1 October 2008, plus free accommodation and significant additional College benefits. The post-holder will be expected to offer a limited amount of undergraduate teaching for the College if invited to do so.
