Queens' College

ACTING CHAPLAIN

The College proposes to appoint a suitably qualified candidate to the post of Acting Chaplain to provide cover for the sabbatical leave of the College's Dean and Chaplain. Applications are invited from graduates who are ordained priests of the Church of England, or of a Church in full communion with the Church of England. The principal duties of the Acting Chaplain are the provision of Divine Worship in the College Chapel and the pastoral care of all resident members of the College community: students, staff, and Fellows. The Acting Chaplain should be comfortable working with people of other faiths and none. The Acting Chaplain will work closely with the Senior Organ Scholar, to maintain and develop the College Chapel's musical tradition, and with the College's Tutors.

The appointment will be from 1 April 2007 until 31 December 2007 and may be either full-time or part-time. The stipend will be based on the current Diocese of Ely parish priests stipend (£20,234). A room will be provided in College and the Acting Chaplain will be entitled to the usual rights and privileges as a Bye-Fellow, together with an entertainment allowance, to facilitate care for the College community. A housing allowance of £2,292 will be payable if non-resident in College.

Applications, together with a curriculum vitae and details of three referees, should be made in writing, in confidence, to The President, Queens' College, Cambridge, CB3 9ET, by 15 January 2007.
