Jesus and Oriel Colleges

TUTORIAL FELLOWSHIP AND UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP IN ENGLISH

Applications are sought for a Tutorial Fellowship in Medieval English Literature. Candidates should be able to devise and give high-quality tutorials, classes, and lectures. They should also have excellent research capability. Preference will be given to candidates with a teaching and research interest in Chaucer and/or Arthurian narrative and/or Medieval drama.

This is a shared appointment between Jesus and Oriel Colleges, with a Tutorial Fellowship at Jesus College and a Lectureship at Oriel College. The post is available from 1 October 2007, or as soon as possible thereafter. The Fellowship will be held in conjunction with a University Lectureship (CUF) in the Faculty of English. The post-holder will enjoy an exceptionally rich academic environment in which to pursue medieval studies.

The salary will be on a scale currently from £46,476 to £59,422 a year, including pensionable housing allowance. Jesus College operates an equity sharing scheme, to assist Fellows in purchasing their house. Additional College allowances are available. Eight copies of applications, comprising a brief description of teaching experience, a statement of current and proposed research, including a list of publications, a curriculum vitae, and the names of three referees, should reach the Principal, Jesus College, Oxford, OX1 3DW, by the closing date of 17 January 2007.
