The following appointments and reappointments have been made:

Appointments

University Lecturers

Engineering. Dr Athina Emmanuel Markaki, Ph.D., R, Diploma, National Technical University of Athens, appointed from 1 September 2007 until the retiring age.

Physics. Dr John Stuart Richer, M.A., Ph.D., CHU, appointed from 1 October 2006 until the retiring age.

Surgery. Mr Gavin John Pettigrew, M.B., Ch.B., M.D., Glasgow, FRCS, appointed from 1 October 2006 until the retiring age.

Acting Head of Department

Education. Mr Michael Robert Younger, HO, appointed from 16 October 2006 until 15 April 2007.

Assistant Registrary

University Offices (Academic Division). Ms Carolyn Louise Burton, B.A., Hull, appointed from 8 August 2005 until the retiring age, with duties in the Board of Graduate Studies.

Senior Computer Officer

University Computing Service. Mr Robert Charles Franklin, B.Sc., M.Res., Manchester, appointed from 30 October 2006 until the retiring age.

Zoology. Dr William Andrew Foster, CL, reappointed from 1 January 2006 for three years.
