David Crighton Fellowships: Notice

The Managers of the David Crighton Fund are pleased to announce the winners of the David Crighton Fellowships for 2006. These Fellowships have been established to enable young researchers in the late Professor Crighton's areas of interest to undertake up to three months' study and research with a suitable host in Cambridge (or elsewhere, if they are already in Cambridge).

The 2006 David Crighton Fellows are:

Dr Jerome Neufeld, of Yale University, to work with Professor M. G. Worster in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics on 'Experimental determination of the permeability of sea ice'.

Dr Michael Rogers, of the University of Toronto, to work with Dr S. B. Dalziel in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics on 'Buoyant chemical plumes'.

Dr Lara Silvers, of the University of California at San Diego and École Normale Supérieure Paris, to work with Professor M. R. E. Proctor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics on 'Magneto convection in stellar interiors'.

Mr Alexey Zakharov, of Brunel University, to work with Dr M. Spivack in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics on 'Explicit models for elastic and piezoelastic surface waves'.
