UNIVERSITY LECTURESHIP (CUF) AND TUTORIAL FELLOWSHIP IN GREEK LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

The Sub-Faculty of Classical Languages and Literature seeks to appoint a University Lecturer in Greek Language and Literature with effect from October 2007. This post is associated with a Tutorial Fellowship and the E. P. Warren Praelectorship at Corpus Christi College. The Sub-Faculty forms part of one of the leading Classics faculties in the world and the College has a distinguished tradition in the subject. Together, they intend to appoint a front-rank classicist possessing or with the potential for an outstanding record in research at international level and with a strong commitment to teaching.

The total University and College stipend is on the scale £37,643 to £50,590 a year (2006-07 rates), plus allowances. The appointment will be pensionable under the USS scheme.

INSTRUCTORSHIP IN SPANISH IN THE FACULTY OF MEDIEVAL AND MODERN LANGUAGES

Applications are invited for the above post, available from 1 January 2007. The appointee will be required to give up to sixteen hours' language instruction in each of the ten weeks of the University's three terms each year. The person appointed will be expected to have native competence in Spanish, native or near-native competence in English, and a first degree in a relevant subject (language, literature, linguistics). Experience of teaching Spanish as a foreign language is required; a teaching qualification is desirable but not essential. Familiarity with and an interest in using technology (video, audio, IT) for language teaching is highly desirable. The salary will be in the range of £22,774 to £29,716 a year.
