Winton Professorship of the Public Understanding of Risk: Notice

The Board of Electors to the Winton Professorship of the Public Understanding of Risk invite applications from suitably qualified persons, to take up appointment on 1 September 2007 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful applicant will be active in an area of mathematical science involving risk, and will develop a programme in some aspect of the public understanding of risk.

The appointment will be subject to the Statutes and Ordinances of the University.

Further information may be obtained from the Academic Secretary, University Offices, The Old Schools, Cambridge, CB2 1TT (e-mail ibise@admin.cam.ac.uk), to whom a letter of application should be sent, together with a curriculum vitae, a publications list, and a completed form PD18 with details of three referees, so as to reach him no later than 12 January 2007. Applicants should include details of their current and future research plans, and their proposal for a programme in the public understanding of risk.
