On Monday, 13 November, at 8.30 p.m., in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, New Museums Site, Dr Andrea Brand, of the Wellcome Trust/Cancer Research UK Gurdon Institute, will deliver a lecture entitled Stem cells to synapses: how to construct a nervous system. All who are interested are invited.
At a meeting held on 30 October, in the Cockcroft Lecture Theatre, Professor T. J. Pedley, President, was in the Chair. Professor Richard Fortey, FRS, Department of Palaeontology, Natural History Museum, London, delivered a lecture entitled The life habits of the trilobites. A vote of thanks was moved by Dr David Norman.
Seventy-six Research Studentships, amounting to £52,750, have been awarded to Fellows of the Society.
