COLLEGE NOTICES

Churchill College

SENIOR TUTOR

Churchill is a well-established, informal, and forward-looking College with particular strengths in science and engineering. It is seeking an innovative and resourceful person to take on the Senior Tutorship from September 2007. Serving an undergraduate population of over 440 students, this is a challenging role of critical importance to the future success of the College.

The Senior Tutor is responsible to the College Council for the admission, education, discipline, health, and welfare of the undergraduate members. Working through a team of nine Tutors and 44 Directors of Studies, he or she will administer an education budget of over £1.5m a year. As a Statutory Officer and member of Council, he or she will take a full part in the policy-making and governance of the College.

Candidates are expected to have an extensive background in admissions procedures, undergraduate teaching, student welfare, and academic administration. Benefits include a College Fellowship with full dining and residential rights, entertainment allowance, and administrative support.

Initial appointment will be for five years and is renewable. A generous salary up to Readership level (for a full-time commitment) is envisaged, with USS pension scheme membership. For further information, contact Mrs Carol Hosmer (tel. 01223 336208, e-mail cah1000@cam.ac.uk). Applications, including a curriculum vitae (eleven copies) and the names of three referees, should be sent to Mrs C. Hosmer, Tutorial Administrator, Churchill College, Storey's Way, Cambridge, CB3 0DS, by 20 December 2006. Interviews will be held in Cambridge on 17 and 18 January 2007.
