Offices of Pro-Vice-Chancellor: Notice

9 October 2006

In their Notice of 31 July 2006 (Reporter, 2005-06, p. 924) the Council announced that, after consultation with the General Board, and on the recommendation of the Nominating Committee for the appointment and reappointment of Pro-Vice-Chancellors (comprising the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman; three members of the Council: Professor Tony Badger, Dr Don MacDonald, and Dr Liba Taub; and two members of the General Board: Professor Martin Daunton and Professor Sir Tom Blundell), they had reappointed Professor Anthony Charles Minson, W, as Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Resources), for three years from 1 August 2006. The Council now announce that, after consultation with the General Board, and on the recommendation of the Nominating Committee, they have reappointed the following persons to be Pro-Vice-Chancellors, with responsibilities in the areas indicated. The period of reappointment in each case is for three years except in the case of Professor McKendrick, whose reappointment is to the retiring date.

On the recommendation of the Nominating Committee, the Council have agreed that the portfolio of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Personnel) should be redesignated as Human Resources and that the portfolio for special responsibilities (which at present includes some responsibilities for non-School institutions) should be redesignated to embrace international strategy only. (This redesignation is possible because new arrangements are being developed to assist institutions outside the Schools to be represented in central discussions, in particular in relation to resource management.)
