The following elections, appointments, and reappointments have been made:

Elections

Professor Nicholas Boyle, M.A., Ph.D., M, Professor of German Literary and Intellectual History, Department of German, elected Schröder Professor of German with effect from 1 October 2006.

Professor Quassim Cassam, B.A., B.Phil., D.Phil., Oxford, Professor of Philosophy, University College London, elected Knightbridge Professor of Philosophy with effect from 1 January 2007.

Professor Yasir Suleiman, B.A., Jordan, B.A., Durham, Ph.D., St Andrews, Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies, University of Edinburgh, elected His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said Professor of Modern Arabic Studies with effect from 1 March 2007.
