Administrative Officer, Grade I (Contingency Planning and Compliance Officer), in the Security Office

Reporting to the University Security Adviser, the successful candidate will play an essential part in the development, management, and implementation of new strategic security policies, with an emphasis on compliance with specific legislation as it affects the University. As well as supporting the University Security Adviser, the post-holder will act as a source of expert advice to Senior Officers and Heads of Faculties and Departments.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate considerable knowledge and skills gained within a senior position within the security industry or other similar body, and have excellent management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills with a good level of computer literacy. The salary for an Administrative Officer, Grade I, is currently in the range of £27,929 to £33,646 (under review).

Director, Electricity Policy Research Group

The ESRC Electricity Policy Research Group (EPRG) is a highly successful interdisciplinary multi-department team whose research into issues concerning electricity policy and related topics on the economics of climate change is of international importance and wide influence.

The Electricity Policy Research Group wishes to recruit a Director to lead the Electricity Policy Forum (EPF) within the EPRG. Through the Electricity Policy Forum, the Group leads an international high-level tripartite dialogue with policy makers and the industry. This is a key role within an entrepreneurial team, and is primarily outward facing. The post-holder will be based at Judge Business School.

Responsibilities will include: establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial partnerships between the EPRG and external partners; developing EPF strategy; leading the EPF events programme; and evaluating and allocating resources to ensure consistently high performance of the EPF. The successful candidate will have: a higher degree, preferably at Ph.D. level; experience in policy making and/or industry at a senior level; excellent communication and negotiation skills demonstrated by past responsibility; proven ability to deliver projects on time and to budget and to implement work without close supervision; and evidence of creativity, analytical capability, good management, and administrative skills.
