Applications are invited for the above post, tenable from 1 October 2007 or such earlier date as may be arranged. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record in research and publication. He or she will be expected to provide academic leadership over a wide range of Latin literature, to play a major part in the supervision and encouragement of graduate students, to play a full role in examining and in the administration of the Faculty, to deliver undergraduate lectures, and to foster and develop contacts both with other disciplines within Oxford and with the classical community both in the United Kingdom and abroad. A non-stipendiary Professorial Fellowship at Corpus Christi College is attached to the Professorship.
