Christ Church

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Christ Church - a dual foundation of cathedral and College - has evolved over five centuries. It is one of Oxford's largest Colleges. Its buildings are major national heritage assets. Working closely with the Dean and members of the senior academic community, this is a rare chance to lead an established, successful development office which has been expanding its capacity for effective alumni relations, and for major giving, both in the UK and internationally. The Development Director will play a pivotal role in completing the capital campaign which is well underway, and developing new sources of fund-raising from trusts and foundations. This is an opportunity to join the Governing Body of Christ Church and to further develop the fund-raising capability of this distinguished College.

A proven track record in development, particularly major gift fund-raising, is essential, as are highly developed communication and interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be confident in his/her ability to lead, motivate, and gain the respect of the team and the wider fundraising constituency. Candidates will already be operating at a senior level, and will have experience of managing a successful development operation. The successful candidate will be confident in his/her ability to facilitate high level giving and to develop the College's relationships with existing and potential major donors. Applicants must have excellent writing and communication skills.
