PROFESSORSHIP OF ORTHOPAEDIC ENGINEERING

Applications are invited for the above Professorship, tenable from 1 October 2006, or such later date as may be arranged. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at St Edmund Hall is attached to the Professorship.

The Professorship of Orthopaedic Engineering is a new Chair to be held jointly in the Department of Engineering Science and Nuffield Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Oxford. The University seeks to appoint a scientist of international distinction who will encourage the pursuit of excellence in this rapidly expanding field through teaching and through his or her own research which will be recognized internationally. It is expected that the new Professor will make a full contribution to the teaching programmes within each Department, and to the expanding doctoral programme in this area, and will provide research leadership.
