POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSOCIATES

The College invites applications for up to ten individuals for admission to its MCR as Post-doctoral Research Associates in October 2006. This will be the second of an annual intake, the first having proved extremely successful both for those admitted and for the College.

Candidates must, at the time of appointment, be of post-doctoral standing, and in the employ of the University with a research contract of at least two years duration. They may be graduates of any university. There are no conditions of age or subject attached to these positions, but candidates should normally be early in their research careers. Candidates will be selected by reference to their potential for contributing to the intellectual, educational, and social life of the College, and the MCR community.

A Post-doctoral Research Associateship will normally be tenable for two years with a possibility of one extension of a further two years, but co-terminous with post-doctoral employment within the University. Against a termly fee of £50 (which goes to the MCR) PDRAs will enjoy the normal privileges and facilities of the College that are available to graduate students, with the limited exception of those few events that are specifically associated with registered student status.

Application forms and further particulars may be obtained from the Tutorial Administrator, Doreen Kunze, in College (tel. 01223 332518, e-mail dk295@cam.ac.uk), or from the College website at http://www.trinhall.cam.ac.uk/appointments. Applications and a single academic reference (unseen by the candidate) must be received by 14 July 2006 at the latest. Interviews are scheduled to take place on 13 and 14 September. The application form allows candidates the opportunity to explain their research and other interests, and to identify ways in which they feel they might be able to contribute to, and benefit from, the life of the College.
