There will be a memorial service at Sidney Sussex College on Saturday, 1 July, to give thanks for the life of Sir Richard Royle Powell GCB, KBE, CMG, who died on 30 March 2006. Sir Richard Powell matriculated at Sidney Sussex College in 1927 and was made an Honorary Fellow in 1972. The service will begin at 2.15 p.m. in the College Chapel and will be followed by the interment of his ashes in the College gardens.
