Graces submitted to the Regent House on 7 June 2006

The Council submit the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 109), will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 16 June 2006.

1. That the regulations for academical dress, as amended by Grace 3 of 12 October 2005, be further amended as follows:1

Black Gowns

By inserting after the entry relating to the Ph.D. Degree, the following entry:

Eng.D.: the Ph.D. gown;

Festal Gowns

By adding the following words to the end of the entry relating to the Ph.D.:

or the Ph.D. black gown but with a facing of scarlet cloth, four inches (10 cms) wide, the full length of the front

By amending the entry relating to the Vet.M.D. Degree so as to read:

Vet.M.D.: the Ph.D. festal gown;

By inserting after the entry relating to the Ph.D. the following entry:

Eng.D.: the Ph.D. festal gown;

2. That the Schedule to the College Accounts (the form of the Recommended Cambridge College Accounts, Statutes and Ordinances, p. 920) be amended as set out in the Council's Notice dated 5 June 2006 (Reporter, p. 694).

3. That the Readership in French, established in the Department of French by Grace 6 of 15 February 2006, be suppressed.2

4. That the recommendations in paragraph 9 of the Report of the General Board, dated 10 May 2006, on Senior Academic Promotions (Reporter, 2005-06, p. 585) be approved.3
