Pembroke College

COLLEGE MUSICIAN

Pembroke College wishes to appoint a College Musician from October 2006, or as soon thereafter as possible. Pembroke has a strong tradition of participatory music based on its Chapel Choir, its two Organ Scholars, its fine Chapel Organ, and an active College Music Society. The College Musician is a new and exciting post, established as a result of a generous benefaction, and the successful candidate will work alongside the Director of College Music, Dr Sam Barrett, in order to maintain and further develop the musical life of the College. This work will involve an average commitment of six hours a week throughout the year, though it is expected that this will be more in term and less out of term. The salary will be in the range of £5,000 to £6,000 a year. The post is tenable for three years, and may appeal to current or recent postgraduate students as well as to aspiring professional musicians.

Further particulars are available on the College website at http://www.pem.cam.ac.uk/jobs, and from the Senior Tutor's Secretary, Pembroke College, Cambridge, CB2 1RF (e-mail sally.clowes@pem.cam.ac.uk), to whom applications and two references should be sent by noon on the closing date, 9 June 2006. Interviews will be held in College on 22 June.
