Candidates for Part IB must offer at least one paper from Section A (Historical Topics) of the additional papers.
All papers are examined by a three-hour written examination with the exception of the following:
Part II, Paper 15, Perception and performance
The paper will consist of a written examination of two hours' duration together with the submission of a written report, each of which counts as 50% of the overall mark.
Part II, Paper 17, Choral studies
The paper will consist of a written examination of two hours' duration, marked as two-thirds of the whole paper, and either a practical examination or submitted work, marked as one-third of the paper.
