Balliol College

LEONARD STEIN LECTURESHIP

Balliol College invites applications for the Leonard Stein Lectureship, 2006-07, to be held in the fields of International Relations, Politics, or Modern History, with special reference to the study of those subjects in relation to the modern Middle East. The post-holder is responsible for giving a number of named lectures in this subject area (normally two), and should also be willing to provide a small amount of tutorial teaching if asked to do so by the College. It is expected that the post-holder would be able to reside in Oxford during the period of the lectures; the College will provide accommodation, if required. The College is able to be reasonably flexible about the term in which the lectures take place. Accommodation and most meals during the period will be provided by the College. In addition, there will be an honorarium of £500 for each lecture.

Further particulars are available from the Senior Tutor, Balliol College, Oxford, OX1 3BJ. The closing date for applications is 26 May 2006. The choice of the College will not necessarily be limited to those who apply. Further information can be found on the website, at http://www.balliol.ox.ac.uk/zadvertisements/stein/index.asp.
