Newnham College

LECTURESHIP IN CHEMISTRY

Applications are invited from both women and men for appointment to a College Lectureship in Chemistry, to take effect from 1 October 2006. The person appointed will be expected to carry out research in the University Department of Chemistry and to teach inorganic chemistry for both Newnham and Trinity Colleges. The appointment is a fixed-term appointment for five years. The pensionable salary will be equivalent to a point on the scale for Cambridge University Lecturers, currently £24,352 a year.

The deadline for the receipt of applications is noon on 8 May 2006. Interviews of short-listed candidates are likely to take place the week commencing 15 May. Candidates are asked to request that references be sent direct to the Principal by the closing date.

JANE HARRISON MEMORIAL LECTURE

Professor Hugh Brody will give the Jane Harrison Memorial Lecture, entitled The loss of hope: suicide and the Arctic, at 5.30 p.m. on 19 May in Room LG19 of the Law Faculty, Sidgwick Site. All are welcome.
