Churchill College

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Churchill College was founded as the national memorial to Sir Winston Churchill and is approaching its 50th anniversary as the only Cambridge College with a specialism in science and technology, by statute. To secure its academic future, maintain its award-winning twentieth century buildings, and its renowned Archives Centre housing over 500 sets of papers, the College is seeking to appoint a new Development Director. Working closely with the Master, Bursar, Fellows, and alumni of the College, the Development Director will be expected to spearhead a 50th anniversary capital campaign alongside the University of Cambridge's 800th anniversary.

The successful applicant will have at least five years' experience in fund-raising and major gift solicitation, possess excellent powers of communication and persuasion, and be capable of leading a small team and working with volunteers and academic staff to achieve the goals. Marketing and management experience and some knowledge of the higher education sector and alumni relations would be an advantage.

For further particulars and an application form, please contact the Registrar (tel. 01223 336221, e-mail jobs@chu.cam.ac.uk). Applications must be submitted in writing by 12 May 2006. The salary will be in the region of £48,000 to £55,000 a year.
