Historical Tripos, Part II, 2007: Notice

The Faculty Board of History give notice that they have amended their announcement of Special and Specified Subjects in respect of Special Subject Papers 1F and 2F and Specified Papers 21 and 22 of Part II of the Historical Tripos, 2007, (Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 306-307, Reporter, 2004-05, pp. 862-864) as follows:

By amending the title of Papers 1F and 2F:

by amending the title of Paper 21:

toThe politics of gender: Britain and Ireland, 1790-1990

and by amending the title of Paper 22:

FromNo subject specified

Candidates for Part II in 2007, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos, and who did not offer in that Part a paper falling mainly in the period before 1750, may meet the requirement to take a pre-1750 paper in Part II (Statutes and Ordinances, pp. 306-309) by offering one of the Special Subjects A, B, C, D, E, and G, or by offering Paper 3, or one of the Papers 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 28, or a dissertation, provided that its subject falls mainly in the period before 1750.

Candidates for Part II in 2007, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos, and who did not offer in that Part a paper falling mainly in the period after 1750, may meet the requirement to take a post-1750 paper in Part II by offering one of the Special Subjects H, I, J, K, M, N, O, and P, or by offering Papers 4 or 5, or one of the Papers 6, 7, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, or a dissertation, provided that its subject falls mainly in the period after 1750.

Candidates for Part II in 2007, who have previously taken Part I of the Historical Tripos, and who did not offer in that Part a paper in European History, may meet the requirement to take a European History paper in Part II by offering one of the following papers: 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22.

The Faculty Board are satisfied that no candidate's preparation will be adversely affected by this amendment.
