Chief Investment Officer: Notice

The University wishes to appoint a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to establish and run the University's in-house investment office.

This is a new post authorized by the Council of the University after a detailed review of investment management in the University. The CIO will develop a small investment office responsible for the main University Endowment Fund (currently £750m) and other investments of around £250m. The endowment is run on a total return basis.

The CIO's key responsibilities, requiring close interaction with the Investment Board, will be: strategic development of the portfolio; asset allocation across a full range of investment classes; manager selection and performance monitoring; and cash management and certain administrative and reporting activities.

The emphasis of the role will be the design and construction of a modern strategic portfolio for the endowment fund, and appropriate portfolios for other funds.

Applications, in the form of a comprehensive curriculum vitae and a covering letter, should be made to Mrs Sarah Simidian, Armstrong Management Group, 1 Angel Court, London, EC2R 7HJ.
