BYWATER AND SOTHEBY PROFESSORSHIP OF BYZANTINE AND MODERN GREEK LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

The University seeks to appoint an academic of international repute with an outstanding research and publication record in the field of Byzantine and Modern Greek Language and Literature. The Professorship is tenable from 1 October 2006 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will hold a broad vision of the scope of Byzantine and Modern Greek Language and Literature, and will wish to encourage interaction with other disciplines. He or she will be expected to play a major role in structuring, and be involved in the delivery of, graduate and undergraduate courses, and to create and maintain links with other Byzantine and Modern Greek departments in the UK and abroad, including fostering collaborative research and teaching projects. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Exeter College is attached to the Professorship.
