Brasenose College

CHAPLAIN

The College proposes to appoint a Chaplain from 1 October 2006. Subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary year, the appointment will be extended for a total period not exceeding five years. The Chaplain will be responsible for the conduct of services in the Chapel and should be a priest of the Church of England. He or she will be required to extend pastoral care to all members of the College community. The Chaplain will be paid as an Oxford diocesan incumbent. The person appointed will be entitled to free accommodation in College or College-owned property, if available, or to a housing allowance. A Supernumerary Fellowship may be offered to an appropriate candidate.

KURTI FELLOWSHIPS AND GOLDING FELLOWSHIPS

Brasenose College invites applications for one Senior and one Junior Nicholas Kurti Fellowship in Science, open to suitably qualified postdoctoral researchers who are carrying out research in any branch of science in Oxford, either in the University or in a research institute associated with the University; and for one Senior and one Junior William Golding Fellowship in Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, open to suitably qualified postdoctoral researchers who are carrying out research in any branch of Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences in Oxford, either in the University or in a research institute associated with the University.

The Fellowships are non-stipendiary, but include membership of the Senior Common Room with free lunches and dinners, and research and entertainment allowances. Fellows are required to have a salaried post with a tenure of at least 12 months from the date of taking up the Fellowship. The Senior Fellowship will run from 1 October 2006 for five years in the first instance but may be renewed at intervals thereafter provided the Fellow continues to hold a salaried post. The Junior Fellowship will start on 1 October 2006 and, provided the Fellow continues to hold a salaried post, will last for three years. Fellows will be encouraged, but not required, to undertake paid teaching of up to six hours a week and to participate in the life of the College. Neither Fellowship may be held in conjunction with a Fellowship at another Oxford College.
