The following appointments and reappointments have been made:

Appointments

Deputy Heads of Departments

German. Dr Christopher John Young, PEM, appointed from 1 October 2006 for three years.

Physics. Professor Athene Margaret Donald, R, and Professor David Robert Ward, Q, appointed from 1 October 2005 for three years.

Spanish and Portuguese. Professor Paul Julian Smith, TH, appointed from 1 October 2006 for one year.

Assistant Director

Physical Education. Mrs Karen Anne Pearce, W, appointed from 1 October 2005 until the retiring age.

Administrative Officer

University Offices (Personnel Division). Ms Allison Marie Stewart appointed Administrative Officer, Grade II, from 1 January 2006 until the retiring age.

Senior Assistant in Research

Veterinary Medicine. Mr Paul Nicholas Tonks reappointed from 1 January 2006 until the retiring age.

Senior Technical Officer

Physics. Mr Richard William Gymer, EM, reappointed from 1 January 2006 until the retiring age.

Affiliated Lecturer

Music. Dr Samuel James Barrett, PEM, has been granted the title of Affiliated Lecturer from 1 October 2005 for two years.

Certain of the details published in the 18 January 2006 edition of the Reporter are incorrect. They should read as follows:

Professor Koen Alexander Steemers, M.Phil., Ph.D., W, B.Sc., B.Arch., Bath, Reader of Environmental Design in the Department of Architecture, elected Professor of Sustainable Design from 1 December 2005.
