Director of the Estate Management and Building Service: Notice

The University is seeking to appoint a new Director of the Estate Management and Building Service (EMBS). The position is one of the most significant non-academic appointments in the University. Reporting to the University Registrary, the role carries responsibility for the proper maintenance of the fabric of much of the University and the management of major capital projects now and in the future.

The new Director will be an experienced commercial project manager and programme director. He or she will grasp the complexity of the task readily and be a deft manager, both of the substantial EMBS team and budget, and of the various constituencies (within and without the University) with which the Directorate deals. The scale of the estate development that the University is undertaking is enormous. Its importance to future generations of scholars and the wider community is hard to overestimate. The Director of EMBS will be at the heart of making this a success.

Requests for further information, and subsequent applications, in the form of a comprehensive curriculum vitae and a covering letter, should be made to Ms Hannah Batchelor, Heidrick & Struggles International, 3 Burlington Gardens, London, W1S 3EP (tel. 020 7075 4079, e-mail hbatchelor@heidrick.com). The closing date for receipt of applications is 24 February 2006.

The University is committed to equality of opportunity.
