Historical Society

An open meeting of the Historical Society, entitled History in question, will be held at 5 p.m. on 31 January, in the Lecture Block, Room 3, Sidgwick Avenue. The meeting will be chaired by Professor Quentin Skinner, of Christ's College. The members of the panel will be Professor Christine Carpenter, of New Hall, Dr Istvan Hont, of King's College, Dr Craig Muldrew, of Queens' College, and Dr John Thompson, of St Catharine's College. All are welcome.

Dr Jon Lawrence, of Emmanuel College will give a short talk on The transformation of electioneering in post-Second World War Britain, and Dr Joshua Zeitz, of Pembroke College, will give a short talk on Authority or dissent? Religion, ethnicity, and political culture in New York City, 1945-1970, at a meeting of the Historical Society at 5 p.m. on 21 February, in the Walter Grave Room, Fitzwilliam College. Prospective members are welcome, and drinks will be served after the meeting.
