SUB-LIBRARIAN

Applications are invited for the new full-time post of Sub-Librarian, to take up appointment from 1 October 2006, following the part-time Assistant Librarian's retirement. Reporting to the Fellow College Librarian, the Sub-Librarian will be responsible for the College Library, principally serving the College's junior members, and will take a leading role in developing the College Library's services, including introducing automated self-issue circulation. The Sub-Librarian will also assist the Fellow Pepys Librarian and Keeper of the Old Library in administering the Pepys Library and the Old Library, and the Fellow College Archivist in administering the College archives.

The person appointed will be a graduate with a post-graduate qualification in librarianship or library and information science. Experience of working in an academic library, working experience of cataloguing to AACR2 and MARC21 standards, and experience of automated library management systems, together with good interpersonal, IT, and time-management skills are essential. Salary will be equated to the University's Departmental Librarian Grade C scale, from £20,044 a year.
