EXTERNAL FUNDING OFFICER

A vacancy has arisen for an External Funding Officer to assist in the preparation of, and to co-ordinate, control, and account for all financial aspects of the Institute's grant portfolio. Ideally the candidate will have experience in an external funding environment. Working closely with grant holders, the External Funding Officer is responsible for ensuring that grants are prepared and administered in line with the award and remain within budget. The post-holder will be responsible for providing regular reports and ad hoc information to management on grant income and expenditure for cash flow and budgetary purposes, as well as submitting the required reports and reconciliations to the sponsors. Applicants must be educated to minimum of GCSE standard including English and Mathematics at Grades A-C, have an understanding of accounting practice, and possess experience of working with databases and spreadsheets. Good customer focus and communication skills are required. This is a varied role within a busy finance department and the ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail is essential.

Starting salary, in the range of £17,613 to £19,939, will be according to qualifications and experience. Benefits include a pension scheme.
