Examination in Development Studies for the M.Phil. Degree (one-year course), 2006: Amendments

The Development Studies Committee give notice that the following subjects for examination have been added to the list of Group 2 (optional) subjects for the examination in Development Studies for the M.Phil. Degree (one-year course) in 2006, published on 2 June 2005 (Reporter 2004-05, pp. 744-45):

Full subjects

Subject 26 Microeconomics (S100 from the examination in Economics)
Subject 27 Econometrics (S300 from the examination in Economics)
Subject 31 Economic issues in contemporary Latin America (Paper 4 from the examination in Latin-American Studies)

Half subjects

Subject 101 Environmental economics (EP02 from the examination in Land Economy Option B)

In the examination to be held in 2006 these subjects will be examined as follows:

Subject 26 One 3-hour written paper plus one 2-hour written mid-course paper (not compulsory but can count for 25 per cent of the total mark)
Subject 27 One 3-hour written paper and a project, plus one 2-hour written mid-course paper (not compulsory but can count for 25 per cent of the total mark).
Subject 31 Two 4,000-word essays
Subject 101 One 4,000-word project

The Committee is satisfied that no candidate's preparation for the examination is adversely affected by these changes.
