Administrative Officer, Grade II, in the Academic Division of the University Offices

Applications are invited for the post of Administrative Officer, Grade II, in the Planning and Resource Allocation Office, to support the management of resources across the University.

Candidates should be educated to degree level and have previous relevant experience in an administrative post, preferably in a higher education establishment.

Appointment will be to the retiring age subject to the satisfactory completion of a probationary period. The pensionable scale of stipends for an Administrative Officer, Grade II, is currently £23,182 to £30,002 a year.

Computer Officer, Grade II, in the Faculty of Classics

Applications are invited for the post of Computer Officer in the Faculty of Classics. The post-holder will be responsible for the provision, maintenance, and development of IT-related support in the Faculty of Classics.

Candidates should be educated to degree level in an IT-related discipline and have several years' experience of systems administration together with a knowledge of a wide range of IT skills including network and server configuration, automated backup systems, Web development and maintenance, databases, Macintoshes, and PCs (including relevant operating systems).

The pensionable scale of stipends for a Computer Officer, Grade II, is £31,274 to £33,646 a year. Part-time Computer Officer, Grade III, in the Faculty of Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy seeks to appoint a 60% Computer Officer, Grade III, to support the provision of the computing service in all sections. The post-holder will provide full technical support, help, and advice to all staff and students, and will manage and develop the Faculty's IT infrastructure as specified by the University's Computing Service.

The successful candidate will be educated to graduate level (or equivalent) in an IT-related subject, and have several years' relevant experience, preferably in higher education. He/she will have a good working knowledge of Macintosh and Microsoft operating systems in a networked environment, and some knowledge of UNIX operating systems. He/she will also be self-motivated, committed, and enthusiastic, and will possess excellent communication and organizational skills.

Appointment will be to the retirement age subject to satisfactory completion of a nine-month probationary period. The pensionable scale of stipends for a Computer Officer, Grade III, is currently £24,352 to £30,002 a year pro rata, with initial appointment salary to be determined according to qualifications and experience.
