Merton College

FELLOWSHIP IN FRENCH

Merton College seeks to appoint a Tutorial Fellow in French with effect from October 2006. This post is associated with a titular CUF Lectureship in the Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages, in the University of Oxford. The Sub-Faculty of French is one of the largest French Departments in the UK, with an outstanding research record. Together, the College and the Faculty intend to appoint a front-rank academic with a teaching and research interest in any area of the modern period of French Literature (1800 to the present), which may include film. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record in research at international level and a strong commitment to teaching across a range of subjects in French.

The total University and College stipend is on the age-related scale of £29,906 to £47,078 a year, plus allowances. The appointment will be pensionable under the USS scheme.
