KENNETH CRAIK LECTURE

The annual Kenneth Craik Lecture will take place on 14 November, from 3 p.m. in Physiology Lecture Theatre 1 on the Downing Site. This year there will be lectures by Professor Patricia Kuhl and Professor Andrew Meltzoff, Co-Directors of the University of Washington Institute for Learning and Brain Sciences. Professor Kuhl will give a lecture entitled Language and brain from 3 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Professor Meltzoff will talk on The nature of the preverbal mind from 4.30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The lectures are open to members of the University and others who are interested.

JOHNIAN SOCIETY LECTURE

The seventeenth Johnian Society Lecture will take place on 4 November at 5 p.m. in the Fisher Building, St John's College. Mr David Pountney, CBE, Intendant of the Bregenz Festival, Austria, and formerly Director of Productions, English National Opera, will give a talk entitled In dreams begin responsibility. The lecture is open to members of the University and others who are interested.
