Rotary Club of Cambridge: Scholarships

The local regional Rotary Clubs (District 1080) will award at least two major scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year.

Rotary World Peace Fellow

A two-year Master's degree program as a Rotary World Peace Fellow at one of the Rotary Centres for International Studies. The Fellowship covers a twenty-one-month period. This period includes two academic years as well as the three-month summer break between academic-year periods. Fellows are encouraged to pursue degree-related activities during their summer breaks, such as internships, volunteer work, and research.

The Fellowship will include funding for tuition and fees; room and board; transportation; contingency expenses.

Ambassadorial Scholarship

An academic-year Ambassadorial Scholarship, which either provides funding for one academic year of study in another country covering round-trip transportation, tuition, fees, room and board expenses, and some educational supplies up to US$26,000 or its equivalent, or provides funding for two years of degree-orientated study when a flat grant of US$13,000 or its equivalent is provided per year toward the costs of a degree program.

Rotary may also offer, either in addition to the above Scholarships (if it is required), or separately, Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships, which are either for three or six months of intensive language study and cultural immersion in another country and provide funds to cover round-trip transportation, language training expenses, and homestay living arrangements up to US$12,000 and US$19,000, respectively.

Applications are considered for candidates interested in studying Arabic, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swahili, and Swedish.
